Meet The Doctors

R. Wendell Stewart, Jr., D.V.M.

A native of Springfield, Missouri, Dr. Stewart obtained a BA degreee from Drury University and received his Master's in Public Health from the University of Missouri in 1969. He then attended the University of Missouri School of Veterinary Medicine, from which he graduated in 1974, opening his practice in Bolivar, Missouri in June of the same year.

Dr. Stewart is a member of American Veterinary Medical Association and the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association. His wife, Darwina, is a registered nurse, ideally suited to assist him with the clinic. They reside in Bolivar with their six cats, Onyx, Rosie, Missy, Micky, General, and A.J.

Christina Robinson, D.V.M.

Part of Animal Care Clinic since November of 2015, Dr. Christina Robinson previously served with Banfield Pet Hospital. She graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014.

Dr. Robinson is originally from Kansas City, but now resides in Bolivar with her husband, Charlie. He is also a veterinarian, working with large animals at Wooderson Vet Clinic. The couple has two pets: a Maltese named Tuck and a blue heeler named Buck. Dr. Robinson's hobbies include cooking and baking.

Lacy Hobbs, D.V.M.

Dr. Lacy Hobbs is a native of Anderson, MO and now resides in Bolivar. She obtained her Bachelor of Animal Science from Missouri State University in 2004.

Dr. Hobbs received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 2008. She is an avid horseman and outdoorsman. When not outdoors, she occupies her time scrapbooking, reading, and being with friends. Her pets include a quarter horse named Georgia and a border collie named Corby, shown with Dr. Hobbs at left.

About Animal Care Clinic and Animal House

Animal Care Clinic was opened in 1974 as a partnership of Dr. R. Wendell Stewart and Dr. Dennis Hood. In 1978, the practice was moved to its current location at 2830 S. Springfield Ave. In 1997, the clinic was named Small Business of the Year by the Bolivar Chamber of Commerce. Animal House, a companion business next door to the clinic, opened in 1984, and offers pet supplies, grooming and boarding.
